What is the healthiest meal in the world?  What is the healthiest meal in the world? What is the healthiest meal in the world?   by WHAS11 WHAS11.com Posted on June 19, 2012 at 3:00 PM       (WHAS11) -- Ever wondered what you could create for the healthiest meal in the world?
The Leatherhead Food Research group says the menu consists of a three course dinner.
The first course is fresh and smoked salmon with a high fiber multi grain roll. The second course is chicken casserole with lentils and mixed veggies. For dessert, yogurt topped with walnuts and sugar free caramel sauce.
Researchers say that every single ingredient is there for a reason such as the omega three fish oils which are good for cholesterol and the walnuts which contribute to the elasticity of blood vessels.

If sugar free carmel sauce means nutrisweet I'll pass on the sauce. Other than that it sounds pretty good to me.

It seems to be missing BACON somewhere. Are they implying BACON is not good?

A large ribeye steak grilled over charcoal or real wood fire with a baked tater and lots of butter or margarine. For dessert either a large slice of juicy pecan pie or banana pudding.

Now that's a healthy meal a real man can fill his belly with.

Most of us eat what we can afford and fresh fruits and veggies are out of my reach unless I raise them. Fresh smoked salmon?? Way too expensive, chicken I can handle. POWDERMAN.  ;) ;)

Now that is what I'm talking about.
Or a big fat burger with cheese, bacon, and other good stuff on it. The salad thing is good on the side, but a man needs that ribeye steak, or burger to keep going. Don't forget America was built with men eating meat and potatoes, and lots of butter.

I believe the healthiest meal in the world is manna and spring water.

But I have not been able to find any manna.

Never could understand why anyone would eat pecan pie.  And I've got pecan trees!  Banana pudding's ok.  Last night we had wild blackberry cobbler for dessert, with ice cream.

Yeah, I was just thinking Thursday how bad things have gotten.  My wife and I had to drive 80 miles to have breakfast at an Indian casino.  We ate at the buffet and I had oysters, sausage, eggs benedict, pancakes, hash browns and a cinnamon roll.  Okay, I understand that that was maybe a touch beyond the ideal breakfast, but we drove over to another Indian casino for dinner where I was careful to select a plate load of crab, prime rib, clam chowder, and a heaping plate of fresh strawberries, peaches and pears.  I passed up all the pies, cakes and other goodies for dessert and just settled for a dish of New York cherry ice cream and a couple of cookies.

I take my diet very seriously as you can see.  And I thank the casinos for providing it all for little to no cost.

Really disappointed there weren't any cheeseburgers, fries, fried chicken or biscuits and gravy on that list.  ::)

Was in a check out line at the local super. the other day, and a 400 pound lady in front of me had about 4 cases of diet soda pop and 4 cartons of ice cream. Why does anyone bother with diet soda?Just drink half as many of the real thing, and enjoy it more.

Big old platter full of Crappie fillets with hush puppies and a garden salad.........Yum!The hush puppies might not be good for ya, but it's almost criminal to eat fried fish without em ;)

Not necessarily. I've had a heart cath twice due to chest pains. The first time I was told I had one 20% blockage and a few so minor as to not be worth mentioning. The second time I had no blockages so even the minor blockage I had were gone. There is a whole lot more involved in blocked arteries than just what ya eat.

We used to have a health  specialist come to our annual LE refreshers and give us an hour lecture about staying healthy. One year we had a lady who said that the healthiest way to eat is to plant a garden and then stick your nose down in there and just graze

Now that's a healthy meal a real man can fill his belly with.

Grill the steak medium-rare and ad some sour cream and crumbled bacon to that tater for good measure and I'm on board with you.   ;D

Almost forgot.  You want to wash it down with a hart healthy dry red wine or a nice mug of dark porter.
