Just got my blued model in hand today and with my Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook loads (200gr SWC) it shoots one handed at 15-20yds just above the front sight
, fit and finish is very nice, though the grey lam. grips arent flush to the gripframe all around. The chambers are 'tight' and the cyl. throats uniform at .451ish (a little scuff on a .451 bullet pressed through). Compared to my 45C and 44Mag long cartridges these are almost like 'match chambers'. A fired bullet mic's at .451 too.
It is pretty much what I would want to 'build' if they hadnt made these (and never got around to doing it).
It looks like these have the following special features (any wrong or missing?) and these are the same features regardless of if 45C or 45ACP:
Limited run of only around 800 units, have read that the 45ACP is only 300 of that, havent read anything about the split between calibers /blued/ss units of that count.
Birdshead and lam. grips c/w a 3.75" barrel
The Ruger 'paragraph' on the barrel turned to the underside
A short headed (is it a Belt Mtn?)cyl. pin
A slightly beveled, fluted cyl.
Super Black-Hawk hammer
All steel on blued as well stainless
On the underside of my Ruger plastic box is a big blue label identifying it is a 'Talo Vaquero 45ACP 3.75' (maybe shouldnt scuff that, its the only thing that actually says Talo)
Here's an online pic of one:
