7-08 with muzzle brake?
« on: June 25, 2012, 11:53:20 AM »
I was into Jay's a couple of weeks ago helping a friend pick out a rifle.  The youth models fit well and among the couple dozen rifles we looked at was a blue, plastic stocked 7-08 with a muzzle brake that could be closed if desired.  It was decent looking and priced near $400 with a scope included.  I didn't pay any attention to the make at the time as my friend wanted 'real wood'.  Now I'm curious.  I didn't see the same gun last time I was back in Jay's and all the sales people were busy with customers.  Does anyone have some idea what this gun was?  Thanks  44 Man

If it was used, it could have been a browning with that adjustable muzzle break/barrel stabilizer.

Thanks for your help Lloyd and drdougrx.  I did get back into Jay's today and was able to find it again.  It was a discontinued Savage youth model that's why I couldn't find it on line at any of the mfr's sites.  I like the gun, it's short stocked and that's my preference and I also like the 7-08 so I put a hold on it.  Thanks again for the help.  Keep shooting!  44 Man
