Updated yesterday at 6:01 PM (WHAS11) -- It's not unusual to see Christmas decorations out in stores around Halloween. But get this, WHAS11 found some stores, right here in Kentuckiana, already stocking their shelves with Christmas merchandise.
So how early is too early?
At Hobby Lobby, clerks started stocking the shelves with ornaments and holiday gift wrap Monday.
Gayle and Amy Sanderson are already making their lists and checking them twice. The mother daughter duo smiled like two kids in a candy store when they rounded the aisle and saw Christmas decorations.
"It's kind of like mixed emotions cause you really don't want to see it yet, but then you realize you can come in and see what you want to get everybody," said Amy Sanderson.
This holiday spirit is too much, too early for some.
"It's not even fourth of July and we are already talking Christmas. The year flies by a it is, that's too soon," said Amanda Clemons
Others say there's nothing wrong with it, in fact it gives them a jump start .
"I think it's great. Sometimes you can get a sale during the year when you wouldn't when it comes close to Christmas," said Martha Gonzalez
So Christmas may be 7 months away but for some it's never too early to start with the Christmas cheer.
