Arizona etc question
« on: June 26, 2012, 07:05:58 AM »
About that immigration thing: What are the states supposed to do now? Are they on their own to do as they please with people they catch and suspect?

It opens a whole can of worms.  If an illegal is detained, if he is kept too long or the Feds don't take him as the Obama administration is no longer going to assist Arizona in dealing with illegals, are they going to file a "profiling" lawsuit?  Does it open the border with Arizona further allowing the invasion of illegals with the Feds not helping?  Is crime going to increase?  Is the medical and welfare system going to be drained so much that it bankrupts Arizona?  Should the 30 states which backed Arizona succeed from the union?  Like someone said, the union was created for joint security (borders).  Otherwise they were independent states or countries.  How can anyone in their right mind vote for this guy again?  Clinton would have been better for the Democrats.  Obama is a communist and wants the nation to fail so he can be a little dictator and bring about his "socialist" utopia.  Forget individual responsibility, forget individual freedoms.  The almighty state will take care of you, and tell YOU what to do.

DIXIE DUDE. Good post. The obamination has basicly told AZ that they are on their own. I don't understand why arresting and deporting criminals is only a federal thing?? Why?? I'd love to see a bunch of states start the process to cecede as long as the feds, obummer, refuses to obey and enforce existing laws. I see nothing but pure evil in obama, or those who support him. Since AZ is a border state I'd just take them back to the border and send them packing back to Mexico.

Perhaps all the states who are tired of the illegals should file lawsuits against the folks in DC asking for relief of the feds either doing their job or ceeding the rights to do it back to the states.

The problem with that is the borders of the US are not controlled by the states, they are controlled by BP and CBP.

I just don't understand the whole thing. It seems like the federal government has a responsibility. Border states and a few others have a serious quantifiable problem directly related to illegal aliens. I remember reading that 25% of people who commit "serious" crimes in Arizona are illegals. The way I see it is the federal government wants the control but no responsibility. Meanwhile there are US citizens in Arizona suffering because of this negligence.

The news now says that congress needs to come up with a "comprehensive" system. Well, I thought we had that as part of our system already: Let the states do what they do best in handling their own affairs.

When something like this happens, it's only going to be bad all the way around. I can see states ignoring or otherwise working around a dysfunctional federal system like this.

Change the laws to make fleeing from a LEO a major crime.  Then institute a fleeing felon law so you can shoot them, if one is not on the books; if one the books, change the law.   Immigration control AND population control.

Feds......we don't need no stinking Feds. ;D

The new policy is unprecedented in that it tells BP, CBP and ICE to not enforce US law, US Code 8.  Previously there had been policy guidance to prioritize enforcement on criminal aliens with a serious criminal background, but this new policy orders US LEOs not to enforce a US law.  It would be great if an ICE SAC or CBP Chief on the SW border disregarded this policy and continued to process and deport illegal aliens covered under the stop-enforcement policy.  It would be a neat trick to see someone try to discipline or fire an LEO for enforcing US law!

Well, that doesn't really simplify it, but if CBP and ICE and BP (whatever they are) don't enforce the laws they are there to enforce, then fire them all and dissolve the agencies. We can't go around paying people to sit around twiddling their thumbs. Do it immediately.

The whole problem will be well on its way to being fixed when we get rid of the illegal in the White House.
