OK liberals, have you told the young people...
« on: June 28, 2012, 11:43:00 PM »
So liberals, have you told the young people in your neighborhood and life, that if they don't pay a few hundred for medical insurance, they will be facing the IRS with tax evasion charges ?  Oh. those attending college won't have to pay, but those who can't afford college right now, but must go to work to try to earn money for college..will be paying.
The single mom who wants to try making it on her own will be encouraged to stay on the dole. Actually, this will encourage many on the edge of "making it" on their own..toi stay on the dole.
A shame..but here's another initiative crushing socialist rule..

Have you told the young people in your neighborhood who are under 26 that you don't want them to be able to stay on their parents policy?
Have you told the young people in your neighborhood with preexisting conditions that you don't want them to be able to ever get insurance?
Have you told the people in your neighborhood with a serious illness like leukemia that they've used up their lifetime maximum and it's time for them to die?
Have you told the people in your neighborhood that you want their insurance companies to be able to drop them when they get ill?
Are you one of those who doesn't want healthcare if anyone can have it?

Have you told the young people that you want government to grow like topsy and run every small detail in their lives ?

Have you told them you admire governments like N Korea, Cuba and China .. where they "assign" where you will live, what you will do, what you will drive (other than a wheelbarrow), what you will eat and how you will live ?

How many that need health care can't get it? In our society, a fairly small percentage of the population. Rework the system so they can get insurance as well and leave the government out of it.

how to do that is a difficult question. A few years ago when I started doing contract work (no longer W2) I had my eyes opened to the cost of insurance, when it was more than my mortgage.

It's a difficult question.
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

Indeed, it is a difficult question.   I think we all would like to see certain reforms such as 'pre-existing conditions and the genuinely poor taken care of, but we don't need "big brother" involved in medicine.
The govt could do it's best service by fostering competition between insurance companies interstate.  It could pass legislation concerning tort reform; frivilous suits and certain ridiculous settlements are the major costs affecting health care.  Malpractice insurance is out of sight.  If your doctor bill is $110, you can probably expect $55 of that goes for the doctor's insurance coverage.
With ridiculous settlements, children are rarlly born with "birth  defects" any more..now, with the surfeit of shyster lawyers, the doctor is at fault.  So if a child is born with a cleft palate..the doc pays a couple million$$.
Do you realize that many smaller hospitals no longer do OB/GYN ?  Has your local, small town hospital quit it... now you know why.
Among all the many challenges to doctors, the govt could by legislation, relieve much of it without grabbing the stethoscope or scalpel out of the doctor's hands..

Not unusual for some doctors to pay a million dollars for insurance ...primarily due to no tort reform..

BTW:  Obamacare did not touch tort reform...
