Rough Deployment So Far
« on: July 01, 2012, 04:18:09 AM »
I've been gone for almost 2 months and haven't posted much. I've been really busy. I've treated more patients for combat injuires so far this deployment than I have the last two combined. I have seen enough amputations and GSWs to last me several lifetimes over. I pray everyday that I won't fall victim myself. To no surprise at all, the civilian casualties have a more lasting effect on me. Especially the children that are injured. I saw a girl two days ago that was shot in the buttocks. Her father carried her to me. I almost lost it, she appears to be about the same age as my daughter. :'(

One thing is for sure, when I get home I'm gonna sit down and have myself a good cry.

Pat,
My family is in Illinois with the inlaws while I'm away. They are doing quite well, thanks for asking.

Thanks, Dinny

If you need anything beyond prayers, just let me or anyone at GBO know.  We will make it happen.  If you need a favor through the chain of command, let me know.  I know people who know people.

Thanks Dinny,

Dinny, my youngest son Clayton was a Staff Sgt. with the 82nd Air Borne. One tour in Afghanistan, and two in Iraq fighting house to house. I could not bring myself to watch the news when he was deployed. He is now in college at the University of Texas and has a son. I thank God for his safe return, and I offer prayers to God for YOURS. Be safe, and God's speed to your children and family soon. Thank you for your service.

God Bless you Dinny.  God Bless all of our troops.  I was using the Redding wrench you sold me this morning.  I think about you every time I pick it up.  Be safe and I wish you a speedy and safe return to your family.
