Proper cleaning jag size for 50 cal huntsman?
« on: July 01, 2012, 06:43:45 PM »
hi guys,

my "50 cal range rod" is just perfect for a 58 cal flinter I am borrowing. It holds a patch very very nicely for cleaning between a few shots.

This jag seems like it is too big for my huntsman. it is a pretty tight fit when holding a patch, and when I pull the rod back out of the barrel, the patch never comes with it.

Is there an appropriate size jag to use for this purpose? I'd be happy to turn down the diameter of the rod it came with to a particular size if I know it'll hold a cleaning patch.

I have this issue with two rods and three jags (all "50 cal muzzleloader"). Including the rod that came with the barrel!

Thanks guys,
