Another 50 rounds through my '51 conversion
« on: July 03, 2012, 08:21:02 AM »
Remember I got bulged cases from a chamber in the revolver shooting 4 gr. of Unique behind a 158 gr. SWC.   :(  So I figured I'd try to ID the offending chamber.  This time I loaded up a bunch of rounds using a very light load (3 gr.) of Trail Boss.   :)

The bad news is that the TB load didn't bulge the cases like the Unique load did... But I guess that ain't really a bad thing...   :-\  The good news is it turned out to be a nice plinking load!   :D

So I'm just going to use the TB load and not worry about the bad chamber.  Don't need no heavy load in that open top frame no way!   ;D

Next time out I may load a few cartridges a little stouter and see what happens.   ;)

Atlaw, I wouldn't consider an open top a 'huntin' gun anyway so don't worry about it.  It's a FUN gun plain and simple and you are only going to use it to put a grin on your face, so mild loads are just fine.  Enjoy it, keep on grinnin', and let us know how it's doing.  44 Man

Richard, I can understand and appreciate where you are at with this one, but it just ain't a good thing to have a bad (oversize) chamber and not make them fix it. I know, I know, it looks good, hits where your pointin' and all, so you dont want to take a chance on gettin' one worse, buutttt......
No matter which way ya turn, your butts behind you.....
