blind ear, thanks for the post. This is one of those news items, that if the whole scope of what is going on were to be actually understood, the outcry would be deafing. Granted, some would not change the channel off the America's got talent station. I guess it'll take another event like 9/11 for people to wake up. What they don't realize is the next one might happen is their backyard. Not a major player like NY or LA. But Kansas City,Omaha,Denver or such. gypsyman

Pretty simple really...either you believe that the terrorists are more than willing to use our southern boarder to further their ends, and are actually doing so, or you don't. Some people don't... They are in for a major let down.

With the fed currently telling those responsible for controlling our boarders to "run & hide" we can easily forsee a major surge in the use of the southern boarder for terrorist crossings. It would a "rational" thing for them to do.

But then there are conspiracy theorists who would have us believe that what was said in the above link never really happened or was manufactured by the right wing....at same time they claim the right wing is so stupid that one would have a hard time believing that they are capable of it.

Which to believe? Me, I believe that when a terrorist says he wants to kill us, and will use any means possible to do so......he will.

And the video in post #1 is not proof of anything, and is an example of the topics discussed in the above link from same member. That's my actual real opinon, and I'm prepared to defend my opinion and that means getting into 'rational schemes' of things, which is also what the above link is about. Unfortuanately, when you discuss or with commentary about people's belief systems there is often rancor and hubris thrown about. Anyway, I'm done with this one...whole thing looks like more GWOTer propaganda to me.

 So much for the moderators valiant attempt to restart a rational discussion on the original topic of control of the SW border and possible attempts by terrorist to cross into the US.  GBO needs to take a stand and decide if they want to cater to the 10-15 GBO members that are conspiracy theory fans or cater to the other 39,985 members that feel that the unsubstantiated and inflammatory conspiracy theory posts are unrepresentative of their beliefs and interests as firearms enthusiast and sportsman.

Here's the thing:  It's not as easy as you think.
 
Although I think you are overestimating your numbers when you say there are 10-15 TFHers (my estimate would be about 3), they do still have a reasonable right to comment where appropriate.  It's not our job to keep them from voicing their opinion on a given subject, even if we think that opinion is ridiculous.  And as long as the topic started is not a TFH topic, it can be found about anywhere. 
 
TFHers are not the only people with opinions I find ridiculous, willfully ignorant, or grotesquely distorted.  Fortunately (for me anyway), it's not my job to decide who is right, only who is following the rules or not.  For the greater question you need to take it to management.

It is interesting that the vid is a news cast, easy to verify as a legit commentary, and quotes government documents, also easy to verify, and had interviews with Law Enforcement, also easy to verify.....but to some people....it's anything but real. Just pass it off as the results of an anachronim, as if THAT makes their opinions more valid.

Most likely the simplest explanation is the true...terrorist have and are using our lax border control to their advantage.........it is certainly more believable than a vast conspiracy to misinform people.

Soooo.....They quote DHS documents, get statements from Leos..and a Congresscritter...along with documentation that DHS has already caught SOME people connected to terrorist orgs trying to cross.....but it's all just smoke and mirrors.
