Modern In-Line & Maxi-alls/Lee REAL
« on: July 03, 2012, 01:56:28 PM »
I'm getting a Modern (In-Line) Muzzleloader that's being shipped as I write this post. I use to mold Maxi-Balls & Lee REAL(Rifling Engraved at Loading) when I shot a Flintlock but How do they Perform in a Modern In-Line Type Muzzleloader ?  Would it be worth getting a Mold ...
Just need some feedback since this will be my 1st In-Line Muzzleloader.

I got a CVA/BPI bolt-action type of action. I thought this would be easy to operate and I'll see how it is when I get it this week. Got it for a total of $90 with scope included and it looked like it wans't shot much...

Every rifle is different, but several do not respond well to pure lead conicals in the fast twist barrels of inlines.  Sometimes acceptable accuracy can be had by putting a felt wad between the powder and lead conical.  I just chose to shoot a heavy for caliber sabot load (300 grain .430 or .452 pistol bullets) in my inline.  I used to cast 350 grain T/C Maxi Hunters for my Renegade, but couldn't get them to group no matter what I tried in my inline.

You can only try and find out to correctly answer your question.

oh okay that rifle should do real well with the 370gr maxiballs with 70 to 90gr pyrodex rs. 295gr Powerbelts will also do great in that as well.
