It's Official: Obama to Sign Gun Control Treaty July 27  7/5/12
Obama bypassed Congess to halt deportations. He bypassed Congress to provide massive amounts of aid to Palestine. So why is it so hard for some people to believe Obama is capable of restricting gun ownership?
According to Dick Morris, Obama will sign the Arms Treaty on July 27.
 
The purpose of which is, according to Morris:
 
 

The real purpose of this is that it will set up an international agency that will be in charge of controlling the flow of arms throughout the world. And while it will theoretically have jurisdiction over arms flows across national borders .. you know like the Interstate Commerce Clause... we see how that can be expanded. And it really will have the authority to tell member nations to adopt policies within their own countries to facilitate regulations of flows across borders. And those could include, will include, registration and may well include bans on arms and guns.
Now if this treaty is ratified by the Senate, it assumes parity with the 2nd Amendment. It is as if there is a new 27th or 28th Amendment to the Constitution. Because the Supremacy Clause of the Constitution says treaties are the law of the land and cannot be overriden by acts of Congress or acts of the state legislatures.
For those of us who value the 2nd Amendment right to bear arms, this is absolutely pivotal .. they changed the venue but it is the same fight.

Well, the treaty is real - they are debating it in the UN right now at a global conference that ends July 27.  Google it if you don't believe me.  As to whether or not Obama will sign it, I don't know, but Dick Morris has a decent track record so I wouldn't put it past this administration.  But, GB is (as usual) right - the Senate has to ratify any treaty for it to take effect, and it requires a 2/3 majority.

Assuming that "clowncare" is Obamacare, no 2/3 majority were not needed to pass it; only a simple majority was required.  Normally it would have taken 60 votes to stop the debate, but Harry Reid and the Dumycrats went around the rules.  Even then they had to bribe a couple of holdout Dumycrat Senators to get the thing passed.

Of course we are being sold this freedom robbing idea by the UN ..ostensibly to curtail the international arms trade.  It will require registration of all OUR personal guns and possibly numbering each round of ammo.
   Tis treaty would require that each arms producing nation would need UN permission to furnish/sell arms to any other nation.   Naturally, the U.S. would keep it's part of the agreement..while states lke Iran, N Korea, Russia & China would laugh at any such restrictions.
  It doesn't take a great deal of intellect/experienc to understand just how the UN woud treat say... a U.S./Israel arms deal as compared to a N Korea/Iran arms deal.  You already know the answer...uness you have been living under a rock for 30 years.
