157, 158, Topper???

This may be covered in faqs but, whars the difference in these models. I think they have a lighter barrel contour but not sure. When were they made? Thanks.

Other than the mannlicher forend with metal cap on the M157, they're essentially the same, I'm moving this to the H&R Misc forum for one of our H&R historians to reply with production info.

I found a previous post on the M157, dunno if it's accurate but production years were 1975-1983.

dragging this one back up for a question

my 157 has all plastic hardware.

is there somewhere to get the metal?  or is this a reman type situation for me?
