357 Maxi BC Carbine
« on: July 07, 2012, 05:37:07 AM »
Yesterday, I purchased a gently used  BC Carbine in 45 Long Colt.  I am wanting to have a .357 barrel fitted to it and then ream it to Maxi.  I have seen several posts telling people they should pm brian56 to check barrel availability.  How do you pm someone?  Should I pm Brian, or should I just try to call H&R first.

Hello backwoodshunter, first, WELCOME!

CONGRATS on the lil BC and the maxi barrel!!  Many of us also have this and its a VERY NICE combo to have!!

PM is short for Private Message. You can "PM" everyone who allows it, (Most do) two ways, clicking send message and typing there name, or easier, when you find there post, you will see some little "icons" beneath there name/handle. If you just hover the curser over them they should tell you what they are.

Like I say, MOST allow PM some allow direct email. His name is "brian56" IIRC and he works for Remington and has helped out many members here getting big green get the crap straight.

Good luck,
 CW

Welcome!

I have both a 45 Colt and a 357 Maxi. They are both accurate and fun to shoot, you will love them both.

If you plan on doing a Maxi order some brass now, Remington only does a run of it once a year and most places have it in stock right now.

I just bought a BC carbine a while back and sent it in to have a 22 Hornet Barrel fitted, along wit a shotgun barrel.  I also sent an email asking about some other barrels that I was interested in, including a 357 with sights (the one listed says drilled and tapped for scope, I beleive).  I made the mistake of asking if there might be some calibers and combinations that were available in limited supply and was told in no uncertain terns that the ONLY barrels available are the ones listed on their website, regardless of what any other list or web site might say (I don't remember mentioning any websites or lists in my email).

Thanks for the replies.  I don't yet know the ins and outs of message boarding.  I will give the Customer Service Dept. a call Monday and ask for Lisa.  If I can't get her, then I may try sending brian56 a message.  Thanks again.
