America's coal resources is plentiful.
But let's face reality, Obama does not care about the coal industry nor the jobs that come with it. His views are aligned with a radical global environmental agenda set on controlling every aspect of our lives.
Once the globalists are able to regulate Carbon Dioxide, the same gas that you breathe out of your mouth, our freedom is shattered.
Barack Obama in 2008:

"So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can. It's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted. That will also generate billions of dollars that we can invest in solar, wind, biodiesel, and other alternative energy approaches."

The EPA predicts that the new standards will prevent up to 19 premature deaths just in North Dakota.
You're all for that, aren't you?

And you expect us to believe what an over grown bureaucracy tells us, when their plan is to rid us from burning fossil fuels. Also don't think for one minute the EPA cares about people dieing. They throw these numbers up just to create fear, so people's opinions will be swayed. If people are ignorant about what the EPA is anymore, which many are, they take the EPA's bull dung that they spread hook line and sinker.
The fact is our air is cleaner than its ever been, and you can bet a few pay checks that it will NEVER be clean enough for the EPA. If our air and water would be deemed clean enough the EPA would have to make itself smaller within, because there would be no more regulations to write, and we know that will never happen. They will continue to tell people that they are going to die unless these new regulations are met.
So we are going to shut down our coal fired power plants, while China and other countries build them. Wonder who is going to pay for these plants to close and switch to gas fired, or build new ones? Wonder how many people will jump off the EPA band wagon when their electric bills skyrocket, or rolling blackouts start. Of coarse it won't be the EPA's fault. Blame will be thrown at the evil power companies.

The libs won't listen.  When their power bills double, maybe they will.  We need coal UNTIL the price of ALTERNATIVES is CHEAPER.  It will eventually come to that IF the government would just let market forces decide with peoples dollars.

I work in the natural gas industry.  We could be running natural gas vehicles at $1.84 / gallon right now IF natural gas wasn't a FOSSIL fuel.  Never mind how much we have.  Obama wants electric cars, high speed electric trains, for everyone to live in a 400 square foot home, eat only a veggetarian diet because cows produce greenhouse gas.  Come on enough is enough.  There are thousands of coal mining UNION workers who are loosing their jobs.

Like I said, I work in the natural gas industry it is CHEAPER to drill than make natural gas out of cow manure.  Yes, there are enough cows in America that if you collected all the manure in the feed stalls and dairy farms and trapped the gas, you could produce enough natural gas to serve every home in America.  HOWEVER, it cost about $4-6 compared to $1.35 to drill and deliver it for 1,000 cubic feet.  We have researched this.  We can also replace the entire natural gas system in the US with hydrogen gas.  However it cost half as much to make hydrogen from natural gas as it does water.

Maybe industry knows better.  Research has also been done growing algae in greenhouses for synthetic oil and gas.  HOWEVER it costs $4 per gallon to grow and produce right now BEFORE the highway taxes are added.

We are not there yet.  Wind is about the same cost as natural gas for power production IF the windmills are in an area that has a consistant steady 20mph flow like the plains states.  Not many people live in plains states so the power has to be transmitted over distance which makes in not cost effective due to line resistance over distance.  The transmission lines are not in place, and the power would have to be pushed towards the Mississippi so it is only cost effective in the middle of the country.  Where do most of the people live? on the east and west coasts, not enough wind there.  Also windmills kill birds, more than coal burning does.  Coal plants already have $30,000 filters in their stacks that have to be changed often, so soot is not getting out, only the carbon dioxide.

I'm just tired of stupidity.

Oh, I deal with the EPA.  I went from no paperwork on our main projects to 60+ pages of lawyer speak forms to get a permit to run gas in an EXISTING road, street or subdivision.  We haven't changed any of our work methods, just more paperwork and permitting FEES.

Powder, you DO realize all your links are to regressive Bub sites, and their figures come from polling conservatives, don't you?

That's like saying Vladimir Putin is a birther. (He is, in fact.) So, you want to be on the same side as him? You want to be on the same side as the people who want to take health care away from 30 million + people? That's heartless, man. Whatever happened to that part that comes after "...By the people..." ?

noodles. I don't know what a regressive bub site is, enlighten me. If you mean I don't go to the dnc for information you are correct. By destroying the coal industry the obamination is simply adding to HIS goal of destroying America. He has one main goal and that is the destruction of America as we know it. Folks need to open their eyes and ears and see the evil that he is, and that surrounds him. I've never seen a potus that has worked so hard to destroy us. He is pure evil. POWDERMAN.  >:( >:(
