Latch engagement question
« on: July 12, 2012, 09:46:29 AM »
I just picked up a barrel and it locks up like a vault on one of my frames. The only issue is when the latch engages it is at the very bottom of the stroke. The release lever is all the way down by the frame when shut. Is this something I should worry about? What are the fixes if it is?

'Smoke' or otherwise mark the shelf (even Magic Marker) and see just how much (or, little) engagement your are really getting. My guess is you are just shy of the barrel seating all the way down, thus shallow latch engagement. If so, see the FAQ about barrel fitting.
