I can use binoculars on a moving boat , an old navy friend showed me how . Very simple really , place tips of index fingers on your temple and and the tips of your thumbs on your cheek it is amazing how well you can stablize them. Useless is not really true for those who know how to use them.

I'm kinda suspicious of the whole fishing thing. I'd like to see the rods, bait, hooks, fish caught, etc......

Most mariners know this, often comes with binoc instructions,,,works OK on  land and flat water or on large ships...go try it in 3 ft chop at 15 knots, or on a sailboat heeled over in a 20 knot blow...or try it on any small craft you need to hold onto at any speed...To be honest I have chasing Blues and stripers looking for the tell tale birds that give away their location  in a 21 foot boat in 3-4 foot seas many times . Lets see the boat would run about 30 mph so that would be about 24 knots . Biggest problem was keeping spray off the glases until we found use Rain-X on the lenses  ;)

  C4...I doubt we will ever get the information we need on this one.  The story will be frozen likely.  However, if it shows up that the fishermen were actually 'terrorists' some how, the story will be unfrozen pronto.

I was just trying to understand your position why get so touchy ? I did not call you anything or attack you. Your post IMHO seemed like post someone from over there would make . Nither you nor I know if it was a good or bad shoot . I'm not an Isreali but support their ideas in many cases others no. So I can see why you might ask.
 As for conversing with the skipper its a point in the direction we need to go as we close he can see the birds with out aid. BTW the bios I use have rubber caps and most of the time I have sun glasses on which are safety glasses from work (since they are cheap and if salt spray get on them its no big deal) and the bios have rubber eye glass apapters on them . But really if you hold as I noted its not a problem. And it is a ride for sure but then you don't keep the glass to your eye all the time . Hope you get to chase blues and strippers some time its good fun . I got to chase land locked one last weekend , not as hard as it was on calm water in a river water .

All these nice gizmos that you can use in our western world. I wonder if the fishing vessel even had used their binos to look at the tanker. I am presuming they had a pair of them anyway.
 
BTW Just in case anyone is interested in my ancestry. It is 100 % Aryan for centuries.Dunno about those warmongering Romans. ;)

I did not try contrition , I stated fact where you stated assumptions as you have in your last post. I choose to back my country in its actions until proven wrong . You seem to do otherwise.
