Hi has any body esle tried one of these guns the Rossi single shot rifle for a 150.00 dollar rifle it shoots good with the WIN ammo varmint pack from Walmart 45grHP it will shoot a hair under 3/4 inch group at a 100 yrds i dont think that is bad for a 150.00 dollar rifle if any body else has one let me hear from you VM

Don't have one yet, but plan on picking up a 357. The wal-mart book lists them for $134. Are they as ugly in your hands as they are in the pictures :wink:

I'm getting one for my birthday (Academy layaway). Actually, I am getting the .223/20 ga. Combination @ $175.00. The 45 grn. Winchesters will be on my list of loads to see what she likes.

I looked at them and the dealer really tried to push it, but when compared to the made in America H&R Handrifle or Sportster they were trash. Wal-Mart has the H&R .22 Mag Sportster for $103.95. (just ordered one 3 days ago) It's made in America, better than the Rossi and they shoot great with a 100% backing by the company, free service which includes rebarreling if they don't shoot accurately and free trigger jobs, cannot beat that with a stick, besides did I mentioned they are better made than the Rossi's and made in the good old USA!!....<><... :grin:

The thing I like about Rossi is the shells eject and you can get more models in stainless.  While the quality isn't great it's no worse then the H&R.  For $200 bucks your not going to get good quility no matter where it's made.  Rossi is starting a barrel program this spring.  I'm thinking off getting the 45LC in stainless just over 4 pounds  will be a great wandering in the woods gun.  Rossi made in America to South America.

I like the rossi rifle it shoots good no more than what i pay for it it has a 23 inch barrel my dad has been wantting it so i going to let him have it and get me another 223 in a bolt action but if i was going to buy a another single shot it would be a rossi VM

I just bought one of the 223/20 gauge combos and I have to say
that it is very accurate and seems to lock up very solidly. I like it better
than the NEF rifle I had and i doesn't seem to be as temperamental to shoot accurately. I also haven't experienced any shells sticking in the chamber as I did with the NEF. It has an extractor and empties are easy to pluck out for reloading. The trigger seemed to be pretty good out of the box and I do like the safety on the side for youngsters to be able to lower the hammer without fear of it slipping forward and firing the gun.
For $179 with both barrels and $11 for the mount, I thought it was a good deal.

A couple years ago, I bought a "matched pair"......22 lr/.410.
  I found the .410 to be exceptional in accuracy with shot or slugs.
      The .22 lr was less so....I tried many setups of scope/ammo, and still could not shrink groups to less than appx. 1 1/2" at 50 yards...
    Gave it to my son for a starter for my 5 yr old grand daughter.

  Am I the only one that has had this experience? Has anyone else had experience with Rossi rimfire single shots?

Ironglow my son's will shoot 1" or better at 50 yards but never really tried to shoot smallist group possible.  It's for plinking and popping tree rats at 25 yards.  When he out grows it I'm going to get a full size stock then it will be my 3.5 pound following my son through the brush gun.

I got my Rossi 20/.223 Combo out of layaway yesterday  :-D  .  I could not wait to take to the range so today off we went (BTW weather in Houston 68 degrees clear light winds time to play hookie :-) ). I was shooting with iron sights at 25 yards with 45 grn. Winchester (bargain box) HPs. The groups ran 3/8" to 1/2" @ POA. I shot some 5.56mm FMJ surplus (PMC) & they shoot a little looser 1/2" to 3/4" and felt "hotter". Can't wait to scope it. Trigger breaks @ about 6 Lbs and needs smoothing and lightening.
