Golf Ball Mortar
« on: July 20, 2012, 08:14:06 AM »
This is a one-off I made for my personal collection a few years ago, thought you guys might like to see. Every part is made from "scrap bin" and leftover metal and wood pieces. It is loosely modeled from pictures and drawings online and scaled around the diameter of the 304 ss (broken pump shaft). Its been fun to shoot. I have only fired "blank" loads so far.To date it is still vented for fuse. I would love to design a cool lock devise for it, but nothing like the ones I have made in the past. I will remeasure it and post basic dimensions later, the golf balls gives it a sense of scale for now.

Very nice.  Me personally, I'm stuck on cannons/mortars that shoot golf ball size projectiles.
