  The kid is a stupid, spoiled brat for sure.  ...But his parents are even more stupid.
 
1) He got the truck too easily.
 
2) He should have earned at least the major part of the truck
 
3) Worried how his friends would view him.. he better check out the worth of friends.
 
4) His mother said perhaps the only sane comment of the whole affair when she said , "you can get a job".
 
5) About the time he raised that bat against his father, that bat should have become a bowtie for him; no more "gifts" and possible eviction from the premisis.  Threatening a parent is a serious transgression.

Yeah, its a setup, at least by the parents. look at all the other flashy vehicles in the driveway and the 3 car garage looks to be the largest portion of the house; cars are obviously important to those folks.. The parents probably added the nasty paint after they bought the car. The kid's reaction was unijustified, but was incited by his parents.

I think the whole vid was a poor attempt to get commits on you-tube.
Like mentioned already----not much damage to truck , walks past Dad while Dad tells him nooooo,
Or,,,  the kid IS a whimp comming from the whimpiest family I ever seen!

when i was that age i would of said WOW THANKS DAD! then got out sum sandpaper and rattle cans and painted it primer gray with black racing stripes, then drove the tar out of that gas mileage rig.
 
if the vid is real, that boy is going to have some serious problems dealing with real life. i have a 16 year old son who was giving his first truck by my inlaws.i was worried about that at first. but ive never seen that truck when it wasnt waxed, spotless clean inside and out,oil cheked and tire pressure correct.he actually told me one day he didnt like to drive over 55 mph cuz it affected his gas mileage.

I too kinda got the impression it was all contrived for youtube. I'll say this much though, had my son ever tried to strike me, or even apeared to think about it, he'd have found himself face down in the road picking gravel out of his teeth! If the kid in the video was for real that's where he needs to be!

That kid doesn't deserve a used bicycle.  Like someone else here said if my parents or anyone gave me a running truck all of my own regardless of how it looked back when I was 16 I would have been thrilled.  I would have been expected to work to pay for fuel, repair and insurance as well but would not have complained one bit.   

Apparently this brat in the video doesn't have a job so what does he need a vehicle for anyway? If I was his old man I would sell the truck and tell Jr. he can get himself a job and buy the next one himself.

If it were my kid, the video would show me taking that bat to his backside, burning his drivers permit and grounding him until he was 21.  After which he could get a job and buy his own.
