I'm no fan of the current administration but do you guys realize how " Dee da Dee" it looks when you conscrue EVERY little that happens in the world into some evil plot solely designed to benifet Obama.

Reality check! A bunch of innocent men women and children were gunned down in a movie theater. Its part of the president's job to speak on behalf of the country when such tragedies occour. It doesn't matter whose president or if it is an election year.

Now depending on what he says in his address there may be legitimate reason to disagree.  But to assert he should even go there is quite frankly stupid.

In the eyes of many here there is nothing Obama could have done that would not be criticized. If he had not gone to Colorado those here would say that that he did not care. Since he went it is "self serving". He has elected not to attend funerals so not to detract from those that were killed. I think that shows class. But I am sure some here will point out some "evil" intent in that move. Obama has not used this incident, at least so far, to promote further gun control. Could you all feel confident that Romney would not have used this incident to promote further gun control?

     R W I feel as bad as any for the loss of life in Co. however I dont have the current resident in the white house in as high a reguard as some do.  It wasnt just a slight non thinking post I made it was exactly what and how I feel he and his adminastration will do to the rest of the country because of the tragidy, It was a photo opt for his re-election, he hasnt shown the same sorrow for the death of the border agent with guns he and his adminastration allowed to be ILLEGALLY sold.  Jim

If it wasn't a photo op he could have made the trip quietly instead of advertising it and making sure all the media was there. When hasan murdered all those soldiers at Ft Hood pres Bush went there immediately to the hosp to visit the wounded, but he didn't make a big deal out of it. He did it because he loves America and our troops, unlike the obamination in the whitehouse. He may be your president, but he aint mine. POWDERMAN.

I will say something positive about The Obama-take note because it will never happen again. I watched him speak from CO and I didn't see his customary smugness, and arrogance and air of self importance. His words seemed sincere. I was quite shocked because I usually cannot stomach watching him speak because he exudes arrogance with every word.

rw. Neither of them was running for office at the time, yes they should have done that. I didn't watch obama in Colo, I reckon I'm just too fed up with seeing his face EVERY SGL DAY since the election. Can you name even ONE DAY that his face hasn't been on tv?? I can't. I've never seen him be anything but snooty, arrogant  and patronizing so I just didn't watch it. Several folks that I believe said he seemed sincere, ok, if true, thats good, he hasn't done it in the past. POWDERMAN.

Obama WAS president: Bush was not. If he loved the soldiers so much, he would not have started two wars while he was president--- maybe he felt guilty.

I get confused... So where exactly is this line?  I understand that when the US Space Shuttle blows up that it's a national tragedy and should be recognized by the President and Federal Government who funds it.  I understand that when the US Trade Center was attacked on US Ground by Foreign Terrorists that it is a national tragedy and should also be recognized.  But when does the US President need to go to the site of a tragedy such as this unless it was to take advantage of other opportunities?
 
Seems fishy to me.  How quickly did the US President respond to the Columbine shootings (honestly couldn't find it after a google search)?  How about the many fatal bus crashes involving students?  There was one back in Indianapolis fairly recently, and I don't believe he responded to that tragedy.  A trip to Penn State to show sympathy for all those boys molested?  How about for the 4-year old kid that drowned in a pond over the weekend in a neighboring county?  The Colorado shootings...Tragedy?  Yes!  Sympathy needed?  YES!  Trip and visit on US Tax Payers' dime during an election year?  Definitely debatable.
 
My opinions of the man changed considerably since his election.  I figured he would be alright if he could at least attempt to bring about some change as he campaigned.  Once in office, I realized just how abusive he has become of the presidential powers, how little he cares for the average American, and just how irresponsible he is with the federal government and it's money.  I have to agree that this is simply an opportunity seized to help him try to get re-elected. 

You have to give him credit for a little smarts... after all, he didn't visit Texas after the murder and injury of the lesbian teens to promote his stand on same-sex marriage.  Probably figured that a) there are no opportunities to gain votes in Texas and b) would probably never have made it back to DC after that visit...
