National Public Radio and Public Broadcasting
« on: July 24, 2012, 06:54:07 AM »
NPR is hosting a radio program on gun control as I write this.  There is a fellow from the Brady Campaign and a fellow from the 2nd Amendment Foundation on with the moderator.  The 2nd Amendment fellow is doing a great job by the way.  The moderator has frequently interrupted and even cut off the pro-gun person in order to favor the Brady fellow.  Whenever a caller posed an anti-gun question the moderator took an anti-gun stance, and of course since it is a Public Broadcasting program almost all the callers were indeed anti-gun.

I am sure this surprises no one but I want to point out that Public Broadcasting receives significant annual appropriations of federal dollars.  And in my state it also receives state money each year.  This is on top of normal benefits from the nonprofit status of Public Broadcasting.

Many people here in Alaska refer to Public Radio as Communist Radio.   Public Broadcasting seems to believe that there is nothing wrong with Communism but it sometimes fell into the wrong hands. The organization openly supports the re-election of President Obama, especially on the national level.  Whenever I speak to an elected official or someone running for office I mention how inappropriate I believe the annual subsidies of public money to Public Broadcasting to be.

I wonder how long npr, and some of the liberal arts crap, would last, if when you made out your tax's, you could check 4 or 5 box's, on where the money was to be spent. A whole lot of programs would get the chopping block real quick. gypsyman
