You guys have got to read "The Road to Surfdom" by Frederick A Hayek. Also, the more government owns or controls, the further down the road to the ism's, like Communism, Facism, or Nazism. All three either outright control everything (communist), or control the corporations and the people by laws, bureacracies, or by buying the controling stock in companies (Facism and Nazism). It always leads to something bad.
The only jobs Obama has created are government bureacracy jobs. Nothing producing, making products, or building homes and buildings. GM, Chrysler, and AIG and some others are not paying taxes because the government own's the controling interest in them (Facism or Nazism). Now they are to control health care. The control the other industries and business by rules and regulations. The Feds or the Banks through the Federal Reserve with Quantitative Easing, is going to end up owning this country. QE is nothing but the Federal Reserve buying stock in the stock market to prop it up, thus gaining controling stock in all the American corporations. If we don't stop this, like Jefferson said, we will end up being serfs, or slaves the the government and the banks, with no real economic freedom. What happens when we get a charismatic power hungry president in control with this in place? We get Soviet Russia or Nazi Germany or Facist Italy. We are headed down this path. Obama supporters and liberals wake up. Private individual ownership of property and the means of production is the only way to sustain prosperity and growth. Corporations cannot become to big to fail, they must be broken up into smaller companies. Our founding fathers realised this and later our leaders put in place laws against monopolies, and oligarths, by allowing the government to break up the companies to keep the means of production into smaller units, thus if one fails, it doesn't bring down the whole system. It did not give the government the means of production, but allowed for "regulation" not control, to keep the playing field fair. Government since the creation of the Federal Reserve, and FDR's policies has grown way too big and controling. In 1960 only 6% of Americans were on some type of welfare assistance with only 13% under the poverty line. Today it is way too high. Why?, because of government policies since the "Great Society" programs, new government departments, changing laws. Both parties are to blame, but what has happened is we have ended up with Obama, going down the road to serfdom.
