what are somethings that can be done to make this little gun shoot better.i already floated the forend stock today but haven't had a chance to get to the bench and try it out.it was already grouping within 3/4.

:grin: Make sure you have shot 100-200 rounds through it before you really try to accurize it. For some reason these fine little guns need to be "shot in" a while before thier full potential can be realized. By doing this you minimize the number if variables you look at when trying to minimize the group size. .75" at 100 yards sounds like a GREAT starting point, heck that is a good finishing point!! If you ever want to get rid of that gun let me know. I have a good shooting .223 Handi but there is always room for one more isn't there?....<><....

josebd,it sounds like you have a good one there.3/4in groups are good.with my 223 i started out with 9/16" out of the box.the trigger was worked on and taken down to 1.5lbs.the barrel was lapped and i had my smith cut a new crown.i am getting down to 3/8" groups at 100yds now.you must shoot these rifles slow so the barrel doesnt get hot.a hot barrel with a handi means poor accuracy.i also have worked up some hand loads for this gun.a good high power scope is a plus also.

thanks for the replies,i built a shooting bench and really like it,i loaded up some remington 55 sp,with blc2,cci 450 primers,dont remember the grains,i think 27.0 not for sure,got it wrote down out in the shop.that was within 3/4 probably do better with hornady v- max,ill try them sometime.is it hard to get the trigger down to at least 2 lbs?

Josebd, check out Silver Vaquero's post on trigger job. If you're up to it, you can do it yourself. If not, H&R (used to?) would do it for you free of charge if you sent your rifle to them.

'Course, in light of recent events, I'm not sure of anything from H&R anymore.

Oh yeah, my SB2 in .223 loves the 50 grain moly coated V Max Hornady bullet in front of a max charge of Varget with Fed SR primers in Lake City brass.
