herters xk3 (F.W. Heym)???
« on: July 31, 2012, 01:25:00 PM »
i recently picked up a herters xk3, i cant find much info on it. its definitely commercial mauser but has an ejector/bolt stop unlike i have ever seen before. it seems to be fired very very little as the extractor is still polished and not scratched up from being cycled. has anyone ever had one of these and are they very rare?

i guess it has the same ejector/bolt stop as the fn browning safari. they are supposedly made by fn browning in the 60's and imported by herters when you could order firearms and have them shipped to your door.

it also has f.w.heym stamped on it. the more i read, the more it looks like mauser, cz, fn, and zastava are from the same roots. can anyone tell me anything about f.w.heym? this is getting very interesting!

Heym made a lot of commercial mauser actions in the 50/60's. Good quality. You have a winner.
