...and no word of the cops beating the guy up. According to some the majority of the police are deranged lunatics, looking for an excuse to pound on people they arrest.  How did this guy not get the tar beat out of him?

Broad daylight, in the parking lot of the sherriff's station, and they didn't know it happened until after someone called 911 while he was "speeding" away.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.  Just goes to show ya that you shouldn't piss off a Vermont farmer.
And ddz:  no, it's not that many feel they are deranged lunatics, they feel they are deranged control freaks.... or worse, commies, clintonites or obamics....

I wonder how the "TAX PAYERS" of that county feel about the "MORON" that ran over "THEIR" patrol cars? It's always fascinated me that "misfits" like this farmer THINK they have gotten even with the police by destroying "PUBLIC PROPERTY".  ???  Rodney King on a tractor.
Also the cause of his "dis-enchantment" with the police. It seems he has a habit of acting stupid, with 17 prior misdermeanor arrests. ::)  A real solid citizen of the community.  Running over the "county owned" cars "sure showed somebody". Didn't it? If they were "self-insured" he really showed them.

Excellent point, Dee.

Every time we bash a public official, we are in effect bashing the tax payers and voters who fund and employ those very persons, be they law enforcement, military, dog catchers, or congress. In no way does that mean that they are above the law or reproach, in fact if this particular department was filled with poor quality officers, the tax payer has the RESPONSIBILITY to voice their concern and do something about it. I am among those who believe our public offices (and I am in one) are filled with mediocrity, so I don't give them the benefit of the doubt - I hold my fellow officers and those working for me to the high standards our tax base deserves of us. Its disappointing to me in this case that the entire department lacked sufficient SA to notice that noisy slow beast crushing the fleet outside their walls; I'd figure the desk duty had a monitor on the lot, but their rural, so that might not've been a priority to them. And if it was, the tax payer might not've felt it was necessary to fund ...

But this moron jeopardized the safety of real law abiding citizens for whom a 911 call may have been a real life threatening situation; in a rural county with no response vehicles, someone could've died.
