No one, no where is completely safe these days. That is why more people need handgun training, and CC permits. There was one church attacked somewhere, guy walked in with an AK and shot the pastor, but before he could shoot any in the congregation, a lady had a pistol in her purse, got it out and shot the man. Only the pastor was killed, don't remember what happend to the shooter. Church I attend, a couple of ushers are off duty detectives or cops, armed and stand at the entrances greeting people as they come in, and sit near the rear doors. If something like that happens, they can fight back. Hope it never happens, but who knows these days. Like Charlton Heston said, "an armed society is a polite society". If there were more castle laws in all states, more encouragement to be armed, crime rates would go down. Crazies would be eliminated. It would not end up like the wild west. Jesse James gang was shot up by townspeople that knew he was probably coming and they were tired of it. Gangs would get the message.
