OK one more short 357 (but a quiet one)

Hello, new here.


These things get really short when cut to 16 1/8". Mucho more handi!  :P


And they get REALLY quiet with a 9mm can on it and wad cutter. (just a thump in the grass).  ;D  Why they no make 9mm  and 45acp Handi ?  :o

i really don't see why they don't make 9mm they are real good out to 100 yards. the 45acp i really don't know about that one i have been tempted to chop my 357 but it shoot so good i don't want  to mess with it.do make a handy little package though. ;D

Very nice shorty and I really like the muffler! ;D    Those must be some tuff woodchucks you are shootin' since you ned that blade for backup. ::)
 
There are a few 45ACPs and 9mm Handis but they are stub and liner barrel projects.  My 18.5" 45ACP flings 200 grain LSWC @ 820 fps (+200 FPS faster than the same round out of 1911) that are deadly on chucks to about 100 yards w/o a holdover.  My gun is very quite with this round  and a can would be great but it ain't legal in Ohio to hunt with a suppressed firearm. >:(

I love the suppressed shorty! Wicked cool! Even with the can in place, it doesn't look clumsy or overly long. Very nice.

I'll bet with subsonic loads, the bullet impact is louder than the report from the muzzle. Have you tried heavy bullet loads at all? I purchased a 180-grain mould, to try to get the most out of subsonic, low-noise loads. I've been playing with Bullseye, but I'm planning to try some Trail Boss (a fast yet bulky powder) for safe loads that are not position-sensitive. Experimenting with this stuff is a lot of fun.

300 BLK........hhmmmmm....... where have I heard that.........I use a 185 gr 358 dia & Unique for some pretty quiet loads in my 357, but no way can I or would I afford a "can", even though I think they are way cool. I also am not going to cut my barrel into a "shorty", although I wish the barrel was shorter. If I run across a Talo barrel reasonable I would try to buy it. That is why I am still holding on to hope for some of the 300's. I have a good 180 gr 30 cal mold, as well as 93 gr.

Very nice. I am looking at doing the same thing. I am waiting on a SWR Octane 9 HD2. I will be using it with the 1/2x28 fixed barrel adapter. Is that what you are using? Nice setup you have.

Two questions, who did the threading and where are you finding lead bullets over 180gr?

midway has a  bullet mould 200grain its for 35 remington i believe used to us in my supressed 357 max  just be careful playing with loads i dont have it cause i had and under powdered load bullet got stuck in last inch of the barrel and i didnt realize it  sent next one down no more 357max barrel .and no more can bad day , but with full compresed h110 and 200 grain bullet i had a screamer.that wanst to bad supressed

Dang. I shoot a 250 in max and have been looking for a source of hardcast plain base bullets (mine are gas check from an LBT mold) that were chea enough so I wouldn't have to cast. I thought you had me covered for a second there!
