Been lurking about for a couple of years, made the move to sign up today.
I have a buddy who is going to build ARs for a living, and having shot one he built up from scratch, I am pursuing the
idea of having him build one for me.
Now, I have two factory AR15s, a Sig R400 carbine and a Remington VTR15, that cover up close and personal to reach out and touch someone. I also own a Remington R25 for bigger and badder things that go bump in the night.
Because I don't have one, I am considering having him build me an AR pistol in 5.56 NATO. Planning on a 10.5 to 11 inch barrel, a 1/7 twist, MagPul plain forearm and MOE-K PDW grip, A3 flattop receiver, and a Vortex flash suppressor.
Also want to use 20 round MagPul mags to keep a compact package.
Never shot one though and the muzzle blast is worrying me. Has anyone here owned and shot one extensively?
