William Goldman. Well actually the actor (don't know his name) who played the charactor of the leader of the Columbian bandits holding up the gold shipment Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid were guarding. But since William Goldman was the screen writer I give hiim credit for it.

May have been a similar line in the movie you reference, but my "badges" quote came from a much earlier movie with different actors. Thanks for taking a shot at it.

:roll: YES! Gold Hat, now I remember. His hat band had gold coins attached all the way around, and he said "This hat is worth more than I am". At the end, the Bogart character's sacks of gold dust were broken and scattered on the wind. It was a message of the futility of greed. :wink:
