Randy Travis drunk, naked, and combative
« on: August 09, 2012, 10:16:49 AM »
One of my favorite singers is falling back into his old ways.  Randy Travis wrecked his car, was found naked and drunk.  Became combative so he got arrested and thrown in the slammer.  Out on bail, but his mug shots look rough.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Sounds just like a country song. "Got drunk, wrecked my car, went to jail, my wife left me, and my dog died".  ;D

I've got a bit of his music, from when he was "on the wagon" so to speak. It's a shame ... sure would like to know the story working up to that night though.

Too many C&W stars want to be like Hank. (Though the naked part and the previous wino-in-the-church-parking-lot incident are a little bit much--- I'm not saying that Ol' Hank never did such, but he at least kept it quiet! As Edgar Allen Poe supposedly told H.P. Lovecraft, "They're only supposed to THINK you're crazy. Don't give them evidence!)   :) :)

Maybe he just really enjoys that LS1 motor... it's nice. 1998 was a good year for a V8 F-body...

Read the news article, he went thru or is almost thru with a divorce. Probably really messed up in the head. Really enjoy his singing, especially gospel. Prey he seeks out the Lord, and straightens himself out. Hate to see another one like Whitney Huston. gypsyman

I had the opportunity to spend a little time with him several years ago. His wife was like a mother. Hovering over him every second. I could see where that might get old real quick. Just sayin'  ;)

According to google, (grain of salt) his net worth is 5 million dollars. Found another that said 32 million. Drunk and naked is not a good way to end a career but is a good way to end a career.

He was born in Marshville, NC not far from here.  They have signs proclaiming "Home of Randy Travis" posted as you enter the town.  I wonder if they will be taking those signs down after this debacle.   :(

Hope he is able to pull himself together and move on.

Hoping for the same. It's hard to overstate just how much damage divorce can do, esp an unwanted one, after she hires lawyers and involves that snakepit of evil called 'family law'

Sounds to me like he is just an alcoholic that happens to be famous.
Alcoholism shows no favoritism. I come from a large family that has a history of alcoholism in it.
An older brother that passed several years ago. He learned to deal with his, and was sober the last twenty years of his life.Another brother who is not dealing with his problem is more than likely going to die from it.It is a disease! But one that can be cured with help, if the person really wants it.It's up to the individual.

I played music professionally and worked as a country DJ for part of my life, and used the stuff as a crutch.I suffered from stage fright, and the Alcohol took the edge off.Problem is, some become addicted to it, and have a hard time kicking it. Some never do! Look at old G. Jones....took most of his life to kick it.

I feel sorry for Travis, but even more so for his family. They are the ones who suffer most. His actions cause, not only problems for him, but all those who love him.

Mr. Travis lives about 30 minutes from here in a very small town, where everybody knows everybody. In fact Gene Autry was actually born in Tioga, Texas. Mr. Travis got caught about a year ago by his, older than him, manager slash wife, doin the wild thang with his "dentist's" wife. How? His manager slash wife, put a hidden video camera on his bus. Gotcha! Divorce! D-I-V-O-R-C-E? That would be a great song, and we could Get Tammy Wynette to sing it. Oh! She did that already.
Anyway! Mrs. Travis took exception to Mr. Travis's extra curricular activity and the lawyers were let out of the barn. Since then Mr. Travis has been arrested months back for Public Intoxication over here, and is being what most stars, (in his case, has been star) usually are, or become, or in his case, revert back to. Which is a misfit that can sing.
Apparently before he trashed the TransAm, he walked into the local convenience store and wanted to buy cigarettes. Did I mention he was only wearin socks, and the clerk asked him where was his money. Then the car got trashed, and he took a short nap in the Farm to Market road before the good Samaritan found him. The law was already on the way, when he called.
Mr. Travis is just what we need over here. A moron runnin around naked, and drunk, in front of our wives, mothers, and children.  ::)

I never seen anyone push divorce as a good thing .
I never heard anyone use the excuse for their divorce as they were "born" that way.

We all have our demons.  Divorce is what's wrong with America.  Anyone that's divorce and remarried is commiting adultry.  That fact hasn't changed even if society has.

My questions are,
1) how much booze does it take to get that drunk?
2) how much longer before he's dead? It looks like he's doing a Hank Williams suicide.

What is a political christian ? do you mean a citizen who votes ? I may be wrong but a marriage is a union and a contract. Being homosexual is a choice for ones self with no contract involved . I have been married for over 34 years and never divorced though I have experinced times that some may have opted for a divorce . So I can say I believe in honoring the union and contract. A divorce for me would have upset me about as much as anything could. Homosexual life styles seem aginst the way the Bible offers that we live so it would seem only correct that christians oppose it. As a christian I can say both upset me and I feel very sorry for those who choose or are forced into either. But as a christian I believe God will forgive a person who has experinced either if they ask.
Now why do you attack christians ?

"And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and he that marrieth her when she is put away committeth adultery."~Jesus Christ~
Unless you find out after you married her that she had been with another man prior to you and you didn't know about it before you married her, you are commiting adultry.  If you marry a woman that has been married before, you are commiting adultry.  Not my rules.  I hope Randy gets sorted out.
