Model 70 $300.00 Package Gun (shots fired)
« on: August 11, 2012, 07:04:17 AM »
A push feed New Haven in .270 Winchester.  I finished this one up this morning.  I painted the stock with Rust-Oleum 241237 Dark Olive over Valspar Plastic Primer, bedded it with J-B Weld, free floated it, and adjusted the trigger down to 2.5lbs.  The mounts are Talley LW lows and the scope is a Leupold 3-9X40 VX-2.  I want to see how it shoots before I decide if I want a better stock or not.

Is that a CRPF or a regular PF? Have you used that paint before and if you did how did it hold up?

It's a push feed.  I used it on my vinyl house shutters about 7 years ago and it still looks good.  The FL weather is pretty hard on paint.  We'll see.....

It was very windy.  We had a big front blowing through but these Federal Premium 130 grain Nosler BTs shot pretty good.

If I owned that walnut stocked model I would probably sleep with it. Talk about eye candy!

It's an FN made Winchester in .30-06.  The floorplate is marked 2008 Special Edition.

Looks good Swampy.  ;)  The factory black on my H&R Turkey gun keeps chipping off little spots.  May have to get some of that rustoleum and have a go.  ;)
