does H&R need stock and forarm to fit a barrel?
« on: August 13, 2012, 04:17:14 PM »
I read the stuff about the barrel program on the webpage. It sound like they need the receiver and the stock/forarm to fit the new barrel. Is this correct? why do they need the furniture? One i get my barrel and receiver back if i switch furniture will that mess anything up?

I usually just put the frame in a small flat rate box and send it.  I've never had a problem.  They will do a good job fitting the new barrel and forend etc. if you send the whole thing.  I think, or perhaps should say hope, they've corrected the shipping damage problems.  I have sent two complete rifles in recently and both came back unblemished with excellent fit and superior accuracy..

Since I only have complete Handis, I only send the frame in a small flat rate box(<$10 insured) and order a stock set.   8)

Do you order the stockset form H&R at the time of the fitting? I dont see any pricing for stocksets on their webpage.
