Tru Fire Misfiring...
« on: August 15, 2012, 02:32:56 AM »
I'm getting tuned up for an archery bear hunt in about three weeks and I'm having issues with my Tru Fire Team Realtree release.  After I let one fly into the middle of the cornfield behind my house I thought it was me. After the second one I started to question and started to draw in a more target orientated form and and it went off all by itself I knew there was a problem.... It does it every dozen arrows or so. Anyone else expirience this.  I'm probably going to go and buy an new one and send this one to Tru Fire for inspection, I should have a backup anyway.

Also, what other releases are guys favoring for hunting?

Wow, kind of slow in the archery section....

I ended up buying another Tru-Fire, but probably shouldn't have because the old one was back from Tru-Fire one day after the new one arrived and I ordered the new one 4 days before even sending in the old one in!

I sent the mis-firing release to Tru-Fire on Monday and I got it back about an hour ago (Wednesday). Completely rebuilt and works as good as new.  Now I have to figure out which one I will use as my primary.  I bought the Hardcore which has the hook release and I kind of like that one better.  Although it makes you have a much harder cheek weld than the caliper design...  Either way, very impressed with Tru-Fire...

Have tried Scott releases, not a very smooth trigger.  Much prefer the TruFires and you cannot beat their customer service....

I have used Tru-fire's for years, various models. I really prefer their strap designs over the other brands out there.
I am currently using the Edge release, and I am very pleased with it. Very smooth trigger, small head fits a loop great.
Hope this helps.
