It's standard heavy frame heavy barrel barrel marked .38 S anW special ctg. frame has large logo near grip medallion frame marked made in u.s.a Marcus registrdus smith and Wesson spring. Mass numer on bottom of but is letter c804xxx open cylinder mod10-6 a complete different five digit number 46xxx a number 6 which is circled below a large F and even below a digit 0 lot of holster wear no circle rings around cylinder my question why are numbers not matching and why the Marcus registrdus and being a high serial number in the c prefix was it army issue or made in Marcus registrdus for border or any info looking for grandfather he's had for thirty years I think f is self explaining have that on a commercial 1858 new army original anyone any help be appreciated I'm into us germ jap rifles I'm new to forum I'm Jim Bridger
