Look at how much you have in your AR15 and what an Encore is going for, then factor in your desire for an Encore. I swapped an AR15 w/scope for my son's Contender w/scope (that I had given him about 15 years back). Looked at what I had in the AR and what I paid for the Contender (had alot more in AR) and then decided how much I would discount the difference for my son. Worked out great for both of us.

I don't know how much you have in your 15 but I would not trade an AR-15 straight up for an Encore.

Have you ever shot an Encore or Contender? I happen to like single shots and have both. If you get a chance, fire the Encore first to see if you like it. You should know rather quickly whether you will join the T/C addiction with thousands of us.

Depends on how many $$ you have in your AR. I have both because I love the "tinker toy" aspect of both. If you don't have an Encore (or a Contender), I think you're definitely missing out on something!

I didn't know you had a Contender, might as well get an Encore you know it's just a matter of time!

i was not impressed with encore at the time, sold it when I was hurt on Police force and was disabled .
I like the g-3 and older T/C's
I like the 7x30 ,I made a "hanger" for it and put a shooters ridge shooting stick that works from my "scooter chair"
dang thing looks goofy but it work like it was made for it

contender villian, I've had both for many years. Each has it's own purpose. I would not get rid of any of them. With that being said, the value of my Ar's in actual money, is much greater than my T/C's. I wouldn't swap, but, that's me. gypsyman
