I would like to find a marlin catalog from 1974, the same year that my 336 30-30 was built. Anyone have any idias or connections?

You might try Ebay. I have a friend who collects catalogs and he is always finding them on ebay. Just go to bay and type in Marlin. Also another place to try would be gun shows. Some shows I have been to there are people with stacks of old catalogs and magazines. Hope this helps.

I was watching EBAY for a couple of early Dixie Gun Works catalogs. It took a while, but eventually they showed up. Sooner or later, I think that about anything you might want appears on EBAY. The trick is to not miss it.

Thanks guys I'll try that. In the meantime if anyone has one that can scan and e-mail me a picture of the 336T from the catalog, I am trying to settle a debate that I own one that was not stamped 336T it is only stamped 336. here is a discription of my rifle it's a Marlin(of course) Mod 336(manufactured 1974)30-30,it has a 20" micro groove barrel(round not octagon), straight walnut stock, square lever and gold trigger. any input would be helpfull, Thanks Roadhouse3030.

Unfortunately the 1974 catalog wont proove you right or wrong. It does not show the barrel stamp.
The good news is that they did not individually stamp the 336T and 336C, so the barrels could be used for both, without another rollstamp being required.
Hope this helps. (any money on this?)

Yes a little, that is what I understood. I thought the 336C did not have a square lever though(I am more than likely wrong on this fact). I will know soon enough, as I just recieved a E-mail from grizzly308 requesting my address and he is mailing me the catalog in a few days :-D  :-D  :-D  :-D Roadhouse3030

I recieved a 336 T as a Christmas Present in 1969, it had a brass saddle ring. Hope this will help you identify it.
PS
If yours is a 336T, could you come to my house and kill me with it  for     selling mine?

It don't have a saddle ring, the rifle itself closly resembles a texan but I am not so sure that Marlins intentions was to call it that. I have to get a picture of it posted cause a picture tell a thousand words. I have not found anoter 336 30-30 exactly like mine though I have found a older one that has a standerd rounded lever straight stick(I think it was a 1969). I am just reserching if the gun is really as rare as I have been told on a few occasions. I have e-mailed Marline several times asking the same question but apparently they don't care enough to even reply to my inquaries.
