Rangel says Biden 'talking about slavery' with 'chains' comment  Published August 24, 2012
FoxNews.com
  •    FILE: June 26, 2012: Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., shakes hands as he arrives to vote in his Democratic primary, in New York. (AP)
New York Rep. Charlie Rangel, a Democrat and Congressional Black Caucus member, says Vice President Biden’s recent "chains" gaffe was indeed a reference to slavery despite the Obama campaign's denial.
Rangel told the The Perez Notes radio show: “Was he talking about slavery? You bet your ass he was. Was he using the vernacular? Yes, he was. Did he think it was cute? Yes, he did. Was it something stupid to say? You bet your life it was stupid.”
The 21-term congressman was responding to Biden saying last week that Mitt Romney's financial industry deregulation plans are “going to unchain Wall Street,” and are “going to put y’all back in chains.”
The Obama campaign, criticized by Republicans and a few Democrats over the remarks, rejected the notion that the comment had racial overtones.
Rangel said in the interview that black listeners would have laughed off the comments had somebody of their own race made them because “we would know deep down they may be beating the hell out of us, but they ain’t thinking about putting us into any chains.”
The congressman also called a Democrat-backed super PAC TV ad suggesting Romney was responsible for a woman’s cancer death “a stretch” but seem resigned to the tough tactics, saying, “If you want to win, you’ve got to play this filthy, obscene game.”

My understanding is that Biden was speaking to a predomimantly black audience, something Mitt will never have or be in front of much, if at all.

Really?
I always thought that the NAACP convention  was full of "MOSTLY" black people.

Read what I wrote Willy...I wrote "something Mitt doesn't have to do much...";;; doesn't have to do much; and he doesn't.  And yes, he did the obligatory NAACP visit; and that didn't play too well....did it?

And thenation's first colored President did not have the stones to address his core constituency.   Instead, he sends a subordinate white man.  That says a lot about our first colored President.    Hopefully, the next one will be a better [colored] President.

I was pointing out to you that Romney did speak to a predominate black audience,,, in reference to your comment "if at all"
But it seems as if you forgot that part of YOUR comment.
Or in other words . It looks like you do not like the taste of your own foot and this comment of yours is just an attempt to pry said foot out of your mouth.
