So what firearm are ya gonna get next
« on: February 07, 2004, 06:22:53 PM »
I think my next rifle is gonna be a AR10 of some kind. I bought a Rock River Arms AR15 this fall and I absolutely love it. So the next best thing to an AR15 is the same thing in 308 Win. Its a little heavier but a lot more powerful. :toast:

Jarhead Ed, I almost feel like I'm insalting you by saying "Jarhead Ed". At any rate I know what you mean about the M16/AR15. They have a special feel about them. I think so anyway. And I've only had mine (AR15 A2) a few months. I think its a heck of a rifle or carbine in my case, mine has a 16" barrel. I'm gonna have to get the AR10 A4 now. I want a 20" barrel, with a flat top reciever so I can mount a Leupold scope of some sort on it.

Gibbs 45/70. I am going to cut barrel to 16.5. Install a folding stock. It will be used for bear hunting in the swamps of Eastern NC. The only way you can appreciate this, is to try and walk thru a POCASIN, which is what the swamps are called here...............................OTTO

Jarhead Ed, it just seams weird to call a Marine a "Jarhead". Most of the Marines I know take offense to being called a "Jarhead". You call them a "Jarhead" and their ready to show you what a "jarhead" is all about.

Its like calling my father a "Dogface". That doesn't go over to well. He was in the Army '66-'69, Vietnam 3/67-3/68, A co. 554th eng. batt. 25th Infantry Division "tropic Lightning". Now if you or another "VET" specially a"COMBAT VET" were to call him a "Dogface" it wouldn't be a big deal. If some "Joe Shmoe" that never served was to say it, it wouldn't be pretty. And I understand completely.

I want another 336 in .35 REM identical to my 336 30-30, straight stock w/square lever. If leverpuller was around here I would never hear the end of it, I can hear him now"Bout Time!!!!!"  and pushing me to get rid of the 30-30 all together.    :sniper:

You may remember from MT that my next gun is already on order with a gun builder in England, a 48"-barrelled .75 caliber matchlock musket.  We're also trying to get out of Corruptifornia and move this summer to Oregon, and I'll be able to get a CC permit where we'll be living, so I'm shopping around for a CC gun.  Right now I've got my eye on a Taurus PT-111 compact 9mm.  Probably won't buy one until this summer, though.

I figure the 9mm will be my primary carry gun.  :excuseme:

The musket will be for backup, just in case.:biggun:

Darned good question.  So many choices, so few dollars ! :-D
I would like to find a reasonable Colt Gov't 6520 Preban Green label.
I have nothing in .223.
I would like something in .308 again too.

In .380 calibre, Dali Llama say he humbly suggest Sig Sauer P232 be excellent option.

My choice for the next weapon is the .500 S&W.It maybe the finest handgun around after they work out the bug's.

NY Hunter-I was kidding Edi123 on Marlin Talk and exchanging some fun with him.Jar Head is kinda a inter milatary thing atleast some Army guy's would call them(Marines)that.Anyone that takes offense to that would seem to be inmature as it is written in stone as a joke.Everyone especially myself appreciates the Marines and everyone in it.I have several friends who are and were and take no offense because they have control of there ego's.Like the names for the Airforce or Navy guy's.No one complains because there proud of there service and branch.

Just my opinion.Jayco.

What in the world is "Maucho"?I already have a .454 and would love to do all my hunting with a handgun.Handgun's in a lessor caliber saved a lot of lives.I have been told.I want a challenge.

Ed,since we can't do push-ups one on one(I would loose at 55 with a B-Day in 3))But I would try.I want a challenge.

Read the spec's on a .500 S&W.I want something new and challenging. Can't get rid of my wife or kid's.Maybe a .500 would straighten me out?

As usual you old Jar-Head.Just kiddin. How about push ups on our heads?Been practicing.

Just my .02 cents.Jayco.
