Bad yr for water, good yr for nuts
« on: August 26, 2012, 03:14:14 PM »
In spite of the drought, nut trees are producing good crops, due to the sap in the roots. Next year, there probably won't be nearly as good a crop; acorns, etc. So this yr might be a good one for stocking up.

If next year is as drought stressed as this year was a lot of older trees will likely die because of useing up so much or thier reserves this year. Last time we had back to back droughts here a lot of old trees died and that was the reason that was given. ear
