Pentagon hands down punishment over burning Korans, urinating on corpses  Published August 27, 2012
Associated Press    The Defense Department has given administrative punishments to six Army soldiers for burning Korans at a U.S. base in Afghanistan, and to three Marines for urinating on the corpses of Taliban insurgents. There were no criminal charges.

Discipline against a Navy sailor in the Koran burnings was dismissed. The Marine Corps says it will announce discipline against other Marines in the urination case later.
The two incidents of misconduct, both revealed earlier this year, enraged Afghans, and the Koran burning triggered riots in the street.

The exact punishments were not disclosed. Administrative punishments could include demotions, extra duty, forfeiture of pay, or a letter in their file. They could also stall any future advancement and end their military careers.

The guys that like to keep their hands clean send guys over to kill bad guys, then when our guys burn some books with just some words in them, and piss on some dead guys. The guys with the clean hands think they need to dole out punishment. So what, some dead guys got a golden shower. I don't think they cared much. As far as the books being burnt. They were just burning garbage. It wasn't like they were the last qurans on earth, and no more could be printed. Why don't the guys that like to keep their hands clean just hand cuff our guys before they send them to that hell hole? Then there would be no danger of our guys killing bad guys and pissing on them. Or maybe the guys with the clean hands should go over and do some fighting. Then we can see how they handle it.

I couldn't have said it better.  If anything, I wish it had been the last koran/toilet paper they had burned.  :)
