hi, I shoot a 30-30 handi , modified with laminated straight stock, peep sight and ramp front. Shoots 1/2" groups at 50 yd. with 170 gr. rem coreloct.  Also have 12 ga turkey gun with fixed full choke. I am mainly a traditional black powder ml shooter...30-30 maybe as "modern" as I'll get!

the lam. stock really makes that handi look good.
h&r nef has a muzzleload barrel that you can order from there barrel eccessory program (huntsman) that will mount onto the frame of your 30-30 its a lot of fun to shoot. and very accuarate.
but i have got to warn ya these h&r nef's are addictive :lol:

Here's my only Handy right now.It's a 308 Survivor,with a cinnamon laminated Montecarlo stock,and a steel forearm spacer.Sitting on top of it is a Simmons 4x12x42 AO scope in high Leipold rings.






I really like the looks of your straight gripped laminated stock too. :-D

hi Mac, that's a cool looking set up. I've been thinking about gettting a 45-70 and adding the cinammon straight stock. Yes TCB, I do believe they could be addicting! Jeff and 10ga, thanks for the welcome. I used to frequent the old site, but only lurking/learning... :D

:D   :D  :D  :D  :D  :D WELOCOME ABOARD!!!!!!!!!!!! and i love your 30-30, what kind of front blade is on it?? i am setting up a 44mag carbine, and i am going to use a williams peep on the rear, and i like the look of your front blade, and was it a drill n' tap, or a silver solder??  by the way which insert do you use in your peep?? well thanks a bunch, and welcome aboard!!!!!!!!

Hi varmint controller, the front blade is a williams 1/16" gold bead, .538". the ramp is marbles dovetail front ramp, .225 high. The marbles is for a larger screw so I filled in the hole with jb weld and redrilled for the original h+r front sight screw and a little loctite. For a .44 I think you would use a shorter front blade or combination of ramp and blade. It took me a few trys before I got the combo I like. Also tried a red firesight but was no good for me, always a bit fuzzy, the brass bead is plenty bright enough.

Ogemakw, I was wondering how the rear peep is attached and where did you get the laminated stock?

I reall like that look on the 30-30.  Nice job of selecting pieces to make it look very unique.  My 30-30's shoot very well too.

Riverhawk, the peep is a williams wgrs-hr, it attaches where a scope would. Bought it from Brownells, which is also where I got the stock.
