Boggy--I'm oldish(64) and live in central MI.

I'm not thinking of any big trapline, just a few Dps  behind the house to thin the numbers.

When my brother built next door, the first 3 years he lived there he shot 157 coon off his back deck out of the bird feeders.  Need to keep on thinning them out to help the turkeys and other small game--woodsrunner

Contact the Minnesota trappers association and  get a mentor so you can do things right and save yourself alot of headaches in problems.  Using Dps isnt hard but a few guidelines and the rest of handling coons and fur to make your  trapping easier and fun... Good luck

Lee,was right in his directions to you, contact the Michigan Trappers association for specifics on what is required to start trapping, we can go from there with specific questions.  The MTA should also be able to tell you about fur buyers in your area.
