NPR... 90% of the time it's a national treasure.

The web is great for more sources of news, though some say it's killing reporting - everyone just reprints stuff from the wires.
downsides... it makes it easy for folks to get 'news' from peeps that agree with them, and will do more to validate existing beliefs than to inform.
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

That group-think mentality is why I tend to shy away from NPR when it comes to political coverage. Most of the other stuff, like their mini documentaries that I used to enjoy so much are now outmoded  because podcasts are a superior medium and have superior content. Try some podcasts and I think you'll agree. Start with howstuffworks.com via iTunes. They have programs like Stuff You Should Know, Car Stuff, and Stuff You Missed In History Class. It blows NPR away. Completely. If I listen to those NPR productions now they seem like they're old fashioned, about a hundred years old.

As for political coverage, the british papers really do cover US events better than NPR, Fox, CNN, and USA Today. It's really uncanny. That's why I started the thread.

I used to listen to the radio in my car while commuting, about 2 hours a day. Not anymore. I don't even know if the radio in my car works anymore. I just listen to podcasts now.

And if you like particular NPR programs, a lot of them are available on iTunes so you can listen to them anytime you want. Stop them. Go to work. Restart it right where you left off. Amazing.
