Sighting in my M1 Garand
« on: August 31, 2012, 10:41:44 AM »

I ordered the government 50 yard M1 sight-in targets and they came this morning. I also ran my load (48 Gr IMR4895, 150 gr FMJ from Hornady) through a ballistics calculator I down loaded from the net.
The calculator numbers came out perfect on the 50 yard M1 sight-in target!
On my rifle its 13 clicks for 100yards. Up 3 clicks for 200 and up 3 more for 300. Up 5 more clicks for 500 yards. Just what the ballistics calculator  said the drop would be. The sighting on that little black dot was rough, as the clouds were moving through at a good clip. One minute you would have bright sun on the target and the next total shad and wondering where the dot went!
I had a great afternoon truly enjoyed myself and am so proud of my Garand that I have  no words!

Here are the pictures I was looking at when I bought it. I have since removed the scope and flash suppressor. So now it looks more like yours. There is also a picture I took of a 100 yd target shot with the scop. first one far left , next I over compensated , the rest  after taking off half of my over compensation.
