Rossi 22 barrel Question
« on: September 01, 2012, 04:48:53 AM »
I have a Rossi 22 barrel which is junk (won't do better than 6 inch groups at 25 yards).  This came as part of a 3 barrel set including a 7mm-08 and 20 guage shotgun barrel.  Since the action is heavy enough I wondered if the 22 barrel could be rebored for a 22 magnum.

Then you could have a 22 mag barrel that you have more money in and is junk.

Your probably right, I was thinking the tighter bullet might grip the rifling better. The 22 bullets appear to be tumbling as a large number were key holing at 25 yards.  I will call Rossi during the week, but don't know if they will do anything since I bought it a couple of years ago.  At least the 7mm-08 barrel I bought it for works okay.
