Thanks to all for all the kind remarks.
the 416 rigby was selected as I found a good deal on a new old stock at Sportsman Warehouse in Phoenix, AZ. I wanted something larger than 375 H H. it is a Ruger MII with a 1.5 x5 Leupold scope. Hand loads Norma Brass, 410 grn Woodleigh soft point at about 2400fps
the hunting area was Mainarou Station about 6 + hours drive south of Darwin. Buffalo Safaris (Barry Jones).
Saw shootable Buff each day. saw lots of buffalo. Not a real physical/strenuous hunt, spot and stalk, was great for me. I am in pretty good shape, but 63 yrs old. Great lodging and meals and hospitality. the reason I liked Barry is he did not try to "BS" me with what he was going to deliver. He stated "We will get a decent Buffalo, with a good experience"  "will not guarantee you a record book, it is hunting not shooting."
 Honest guy.
shot this one on second to last day at about 50 yards, lung shot. the 416 worked "as advertised".
Was able to do a little fishing on the Mainarou river. Very relaxing trip, except for the travel.
You need Austrailia paper work import and export for your firearm. With the correct paperwork firearm in and out was not a problem.
would do it again maybe in a couple of years.
Cheers
