Nice little wild cat ;D .A simple & powerful one to make and it fits the case length requirements for the goofy case length restrictions required by some of the northern states
Well done!!

I like it! It would be legal in Indiana for deer. If you ever part with it let me know, I want one!  :o

A necked down .460 would be really cool!

Nice looking cartridge!  Keep us all posted on what she she does at the range.  I have a similar cartridge at work that I would like to try for a 45 Colt barrel, it's based on a 500 S&W case necked down to .452.  Would clean out the 45 Colt chamber, since many are cut on the generous side, as well as give 454 speed at lower pressure.  Just concerned about reamer and die costs.  Where did you get the reamer to do the rechamber?  DP

How did you cut the chamber end of your barrel?  Is it something that a competent gunsmith would be willing to undertake, or is this the kind of project that would scare most of them away?

This one was done by a prof(ino)essional gunsmith. It looks like a factory job to me. Gonna finally get a chance to shoot it tomorrow.

Not a true Profino because we used a lathe and endmill. ;D   Chamber end was cut off a tad long with a hacksaw and then finished in the lathe.  End mill was used to make the ejector notch.
