Shoots low
« on: September 01, 2012, 03:34:28 PM »
I sent my SB2 back to have a 28" 3.5" 12 ga  barrel fitted Interchangeable tubes.....This barrel shoots low by maybe 2-3" center of pattern. Any ideas?

I've bent barrels to correct left to right aiming, for up and down I find the stock is usually to blame.  Since the pattern is low compared to where you are looking, your line of sight needs to be lower at the gunstock compared to the sight.  Either lower the comb, or put a wedge between the stock and the receiver.

I had to bend the same barrel to fix that problem

I've solved this problem by lowering the comb to fit my fat little chipmunk cheeks.

I've bent a few barrels....I shouldn't have to..........Good Ideas all, but I have 3 barrels for this reciever, I don't want to shave the comb.
Thanks all, I'll figure something out.

Well, on a sighted gun you move the rear sight the direction you want the projectile to go; ie, if it shoots low, you want it to go up so you raise the rear sight. On a shotgun your eye is the rear sight so you want more comb height (or to see 'more breech' end of the barrel in your hold).
