When Carter was in office in the 70's, I was assigned as one of the troopers to be at an airport.  One of the secret service fellows told me to go out and stand by the plane.  Carter would be forced to walk by me, and would shake my hand.  The agent took a picture of that and sent it to me in the mail. 
Okay, now I learn I shook hands with the worst president of all time, other than Obama.  So I don't suppose the photo is worth all the thousands I envisioned.  Drat.

Jimmy Carter was a naval academy grad (#59 out of 820 in his class). He was a sub officer, and qualified for command. He passed muster with Rickover, moved into the nuke navy. He built & ran a successful business,  and was elected to state senate, gov, then President of the United States.

Did the OP achieve anything anywhere near any of that?

FYI... President Carter was also a believing Christian[size=78%] (caught flack for that)[/size]. He's pro-life, against the death penalty, and the Carter Center does some good work.

Well, the end must be truly near.  I've agreed with yt twice this week.  Either I'm getting senile or I'm about to have a breakdown.  :-)

Carter sucked as a President, but at heart he's one of the best people to have served in the office.  He still works tirelessly to help others.

You don't have to go back very far to find President's worse than Carter.
Clinton,Bush 1 and 2,Nixon,Johnson! He was almost as bad as Lincoln.

The Neo-cons pretty much took control of the Republican party after Reagan, and we have only had Liberal choices since. We will have NWO Liberals to choose from again this election in Obama or Mitt.  I don't think Jimmy loves Obama, but he should be ashamed for endorsing him, just as Clint E. and others should be for endorsing Mitt.

I've lived through 13 Presidents and I can say without hesitation that Obama is the worst by factors of ... too much to contemplate.  I would rate Johnson second worst and then maybe a tie between Carter and Clinton for third worst.  Clinton benefitted from having a Republican Congress to keep him in check, so it wasn't the disaster that it mght have been for the country.

He had two things going for him.  The Republican contract with America and a willingness to work with the other party on the issues.

Since he left office no politician will work with the other party.  Everyone just wants to sit and blame everyone else instead of working on real solutions.

Any cooporation Clinton had with the Republican Congress had very little to do with pragmatism and probably more to do with taking the attention off of his horndogism.  The best I can say for him is that I don't think he is a flaming communist like his wife and Obama are.  He was every bit as good a liar as either of the aforementioned duo, though.
